This 30 page Educator's Guide (K-4) contains background information on the Space Amateur Radio EXperiment (SAREX) designed to facilitate communication between astronauts in orbit with students on the ground. Hands-on activities in this guide explore concepts related to amateur radio in the areas of science, mathematics, and technology.

Activities include 'Waves, Waves Everywhere', 'Can I Hear You?', 'Hello Over There' and 'Say it with Space Talk'. Detailed instructions and Activity Sheets are provided for each one. Schools can submit a proposal for a scheduled SAREX radio contact with astronauts, or can listen in on the astronauts from their classroom!
